WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Bulldog Baseball had the start of their series against Oklahoma Baptist postponed by two days, but SWOSU and OBU will get their three-game Great American Conference series underway on Sunday afternoon at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.
The teams will now play a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday afternoon before concluding the series on Monday afternoon at 3:00 pm. SWOSU will honor the 12 senior members of the baseball program prior to first pitch of the series on Sunday.
SWOSU and Oklahoma Baptist have already played a home-and-home non-conference series this season, with Oklahoma Baptist claiming a 14-13 victory in Weatherford on March 19th before picking up a 17-7 win over the Dawgs in Shawnee on April 2nd. Both teams enter the series in contention for a spot in the GAC Tournament, but needing wins this weekend as OBU sits on the cut line in sixth place, one game ahead of the Bulldogs.
Leading the charge for the Bulldogs, who dropped two-of-three games at Harding last weekend, is shortstop
Alex Pimentel and center fielder
Alex Bedard. Pimentel is hitting .377 with 49 hits and a team-leading 27 RBI while Bedard has a .374 average with team-highs of 15 doubles, four triples and 21 stolen bases. Projected starting pitchers in the series include seniors
