WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Baseball returns to the Athletic Complex this weekend for a three-game Great American Conference series against Arkansas-Monticello. Due to the forecast in Weatherford this weekend, the team's will play a doubleheader at noon on Friday before concluding the series on Saturday with a single game, also beginning at noon.

The Bulldogs enter the weekend 7-6 overall and 4-2 in league play after dropping 2-of-3 games to Southeastern Oklahoma State last weekend in Durant. This will be the third GAC series of the season for SWOSU, who also swept East Central on February 15-16 at the Athletic Complex to open up conference play. Arkansas-Monticello is 3-3 in league play after getting swept by Harding the first weekend of league play before winning all three games they played against Ouachita last weekend.

SWOSU ranks second in the GAC with a team ERA of 4.43 behind a pitching staff that has allowed 54 earned runs in 109.2 innings of action this season. Cooper Cantwell, who won the GAC Pitcher of the Week award two weeks ago after throwing eight no-hit innings against East Central, is the normal Game 1 starter for the Bulldogs and he's 2-1 with a 4.63 ERA in four starts this season. Tyler Tuck has made the most appearances of any Bulldog pitcher, with a 2-1 record and 4.76 ERA in six outings while Haden Branch has three saves and a 3.52 ERA in five appearances on the mound.

Four different players have 10 or more hits for the Bulldogs, who are led at the plate by shortstop Alex Pimentel, a returning All-American who is batting .347 with 17 hits – including three doubles – and 10 RBI. Alex Bedard has 16 hits and scored a team-high 15 runs while leading the conference with 10 stolen bases in 11 attempts.
