RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Bulldog Men's Basketball dropped a low-scoring contest to Fort Hays State in the final game of the GAC / MIAA Challenge in Russellville, falling 58-53 to the Tigers on Saturday.
Neither team shot particularly well, with SWOSU finishing 17-of-57 (29.8%) from the field while connecting on 7-of-21 (33.3%) three-point attempts. Damion Thornton led the Bulldogs with 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting while
Marquis Johnson added 10 points and
Jaylan Williams chipped in nine.
Anthony Love had a team-high six rebounds and Thornton had four steals to lead the Dawgs while Johnson had three of SWOSU's six assists in the game.
SWOSU (1-1) returns to action next Friday (Nov. 15) night in Lawton, taking on in-state foe Cameron.
