LAWTON, Okla. – SWOSU outscored Cameron 22-15 over the final 4:39 – including an 8-0 run after the Aggies got within two – to pull away for a 79-70 victory on Friday night at Aggie Gym.
Anthony Love hit a three-pointer with 4:39 to play, breaking a 59-all tie and jump starting the Bulldogs final push. Cameron was back within two, 67-65, with 2:11 to play, but the Dawgs scored the next eight points and took control of the game for good.
SWOSU got a game-high 22 points and six rebounds from
Damion Thornton while Love added 13 points.
Bralyn James (12) and
Dominique Primer (10) also reached double figures in scoring while eight players in total recorded points for the Bulldogs. SWOSU turned the ball over 17 times, but they made up for it by forcing 25 Aggie turnovers which they turned into 23 points.
SWOSU, now 2-1 on the year, will play at home on Monday evening for the first time this season when they host Oklahoma Christian at 7:00 pm.
