WEATHERFORD, Okla. – For the second time in four games, SWOSU needed overtime to decide a non-conference matchup. On Monday night, however, the Bulldogs were on the short end of the extra period as Oklahoma Christian upended SWOSU 64-61 at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
SWOSU led by as many as 11 points in the first half and they held the Eagles to just 20 points in the first half, building a 30-20 advantage at the break. OC opened the second half on a 15-5 run to tie the game before taking their first lead at 39-37 with 11:14 to play. SWOSU was then forced to play from behind, trailing by as many as eight points, 51-43, before mounting a late run that tied the game following back-to-back three-pointers from
Jaylan Williams and

Damion Thornton hit two free throws with 1:13 to play, giving his team the lead, but a SWOSU foul allowed OC to tie the game at the free throw line in their next possession, which sent the game to overtime. Primer got a second-chance bucket on the Dawgs second possession of overtime, but that would be the lone field goal the Dawgs made in the extra session. OC hit 5-of-6 free throw attempts in the final five minutes, which proved to be the difference.
SWOSU was led by 13 points from
