Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Baseball, fresh off of having their eight game winning streak snapped, will look to bounce back over the weekend when they host Southeastern in another home GAC series
- Despite the loss to Northeastern State on Tuesday, the Bulldogs are still riding hot having won nine of the last 11 contests and are averaging nearly 12 runs per game during that span (11.9)
- SWOSU has won all three GAC series to start the schedule, sweeping Harding and East Central and claiming two-of-three from Arkansas Tech
- Last year the Dawgs only played Southeastern once due to rain cancelling the doubleheader portion of the series, but claimed a 7-0 victory over the Savage Storm

The Opponent
Southeastern (8-10, 4-5 GAC)
- Three weekends into the conference grind, Southeastern sits seventh in the GAC standings with a 4-5 league slate
- The Savage Storm will come into the series riding a four game winning streak after a sweeping of Northwestern last weekend and a midweek victory over Cameron most recently
- SE has four players hitting above .300 led by Travis Spinney (.338) who leads the team with 16 RBI and six doubles
- The pitching staff holds a 6.92 team ERA with Cody Nitson logging a team high 28.0 innings this year in five starts

The Coaches
SWOSU: Zack Saunders (166-135, 9th season)
- Two-time Great American Conference Coach of the Year, winning the award in 2013 and 2016
- Inducted into the Muskogee Athletic Hall of Fame on October 13, 2016
- Earned his 100th career victory at SWOSU against Northwestern Oklahoma State on April 24, 2015
- Previously served as an assistant at SWOSU for six seasons under former Bulldog coaches Charles Teasley and Scott Selby
- Played collegiately at Kansas State following two seasons at Connors State playing on nationally-ranked junior college teams

Southeastern: Zach Crabtree (8-10, 1st season)
- Took over the Southeastern baseball program in the summer of 2017 after seven seasons guiding Murray State College
- Over seven seasons at MSC, Crabtree amassed a 281-134 record for a .677 winning percentage and a pair of NJCAA World Series appearances including a 2013 National Championship
- Received both his Bachelor's degree in Recreation and his Master's degree in Education Administration from Southeastern

SWOSU Notes
- The Bulldogs currently sit second in the GAC standings with just one loss in nine conference games and an 8-1 league record
- This weekend will be SWOSU's 14th, 15th, and 16th games played at home this season after rain has forced two of the Dawgs' road series to be switched to Weatherford
- The offense is scoring runs lately, having plated at least nine runs in seven of the last eight games this season which included the 67-run ECU series where SWOSU scored 20+ runs in all three games against the Tigers
- Brady Burtner has come on strong in the lineup, riding a seven game hit streak where in six of those contests he has had two hits
- Alex Pimentel also has a hitting streak alive, a team best 12 game streak followed by Bryan Miranda with a nine game streak
- SWOSU has three players batting above the .400 mark: Bryan Miranda (.453), Alex Pimentel (.449), and Burtner (.438)

Looking Ahead
- SWOSU will travel to Science & Arts (USAO) on Tuesday next week for a midweek game before the Dawgs host their fifth consecutive GAC series in Weatherford when Southern Arkansas comes to town over the weekend
