- SWOSU Baseball travels down I40 to take on Southern Nazarene this weekend looking to bounce back from the three game sweep they suffered last weekend against Arkansas-Monticello
- This weekend marks the second straight weekend the Bulldogs will have be away from Weatherford after beginning the GAC season with five straight home series due to various schedule alterations
- SWOSU currently sits in a tie for fifth place in the league standings with a 10-8 slate, but has lost seven of their last nine games in conference dating back to the Southeastern series three weeks ago
The Opponent
Southern Nazarene (9-17, 5-13 GAC)
- Currently is in 11th in the GAC standings with only five conference wins under their belt, but has collected a series victory over Ouachita Baptist and taken games away from Southern Arkansas and Arkansas Tech
- The Crimson Storm offense ranks seventh in the GAC with a .284 team batting average led by Cooper Austin who is hitting a team best .352 in all 26 games for SNU
- The pitching staff holds a 6.80 team ERA with Ryan Mills having logged a team best 42.1 innings of work with a 5.95 ERA
The Coaches
Zack Saunders (170-143, 14th season)
- Two-time Great American Conference Coach of the Year, winning the award in 2013 and 2016
- Inducted into the Muskogee Athletic Hall of Fame on October 13, 2016
- Earned his 100th career victory at SWOSU against Northwestern Oklahoma State on April 24, 2015
- Previously served as an assistant at SWOSU for six seasons under former Bulldog coaches Charles Teasley and Scott Selby
- Played collegiately at Kansas State following two seasons at Connors State playing on nationally-ranked junior college teams
SNU: Robert Lee (93-107, 7th season)
- Was named Head Coach of Southern Nazarene's baseball program, June 14, 2011, after spending seven years as an assistant coach working with the Crimson Storm's pitching staff
- Began his coaching career in the Edmond Public School system as varsity assistant for eight years and then as a Head Coach for two years at Edmond Memorial High School

- The Bulldogs now rank fourth around the conference in team batting average at .292, and have four players hitting above the .300 mark including
Bryan Miranda with a team leading .405 average
- Miranda leads the GAC in hits with 51 and ranks second behind Oklahoma Baptist's Juan Gonzalez (.407) in batting average
- Among the other .300 or better SWOSU hitters,
Alex Pimentel (.393) ranks second in the GAC with 48 hits on the season
- On the mound, the Bulldog pitching staff holds a 5.47 team ERA – good enough for sixth in the league
