SHAWNEE, Okla. – #20/13-ranked SWOSU Women's Basketball was defeated 68-60 by Emporia State on Friday evening as their first game of the GAC/MIAA Crossover.
 
SWOSU built a lead in the early going and held a two-point advantage of 24-22 at the end of the first quarter, but it was erased in the second as ESU took a 40-36 lead to the break. The Lady Hornets extended the lead to eight at the end of three and maintained through the fourth quarter to pick up the season-opening win.
