Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Volleyball (4-9, 1-0 GAC) is slated to play three times this week, two of which are against conference opponents
- The Bulldogs finally get to play in front of their home fans on Tuesday, playing in Weatherford for the first time all season against Southern Nazarene at 7 pm inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center
- Two days later, SWOSU is back on the road yet again to face rival Northwestern in Alva at 6:30 pm
- On Saturday, the Dawgs will take a break from GAC play with a non-conference contest against NAIA foe Southwestern Christian at 1 pm in Bethany
The Opponents
Southern Nazarene (5-6, 0-0 GAC)
- SNU will play its first conference game of the season against SWOSU
- Sitting a game under .500, the Crimson Storm have taken on six MIAA opponents among other teams during their non-conference schedule
- Southern Nazarene is lethal at the service line, ranking second in the GAC with 73 service aces in 40 sets
- Bailee Turang sits atop the conference in kills with 153 to her credit
Northwestern (9-5, 0-1 GAC)
- The Rangers will take on East Central on Tuesday in another GAC match, looking to even their league record at 1-1 after falling to Oklahoma Baptist last week in their conference opener
- At the GAC/MIAA Crossover last weekend, NWOSU finished a perfect 4-0 by dropping only two sets in four games
- Northwestern is also a tough serving team with a league-leading 89 aces through 48 sets (1.85/set)
- They rank in the top three of the GAC in: hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, blocks, and service aces
Southwestern Christian (8-2)
- SCU currently sits 8-2 overall and 2-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (NAIA)
- The match against SWOSU will be their first Division II opponent this season
