Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Baseball (17-23, 13-15 GAC) travels to Oklahoma Christian for a single nine-inning contest on Tuesday starting at 6:00 pm from Dobson Field in Edmond
- The Dawgs are coming off of a conference series victory against Ouachita Baptist over the weekend, taking the opening doubleheader before falling in extra innings in the final game
- Coming into the matchup, SWOSU is an even 6-6 against the Eagles in the D2 era
- Last season, the Dawgs were victors in both games against OC by scores of 11-5 in Weatherford and 10-7 in Edmond

SWOSU: Zack Saunders (151-124, 6th season)
- Two-time Great American Conference Coach of the Year, winning the award in 2013 and 2016
- Inducted into the Muskogee Athletic Hall of Fame on October 13, 2016
- Earned his 100th career victory at SWOSU against Northwestern Oklahoma State on April 24, 2015
- Previously served as an assistant at SWOSU for six seasons under former Bulldog coaches Charles Teasley and Scott Selby
- Played collegiately at Kansas State following two seasons at Connors State playing on nationally-ranked junior college teams
Oklahoma Christian: Lonnie Cobble (145-103, 5th season)
- Coach Cobble began serving as Oklahoma Christian's 13th head coach in May 2012, tabbed to help the OC program transition into NCAA Division II status
- Cobble came to OC after 19 seasons at Edmond Santa Fe High School, during which he built a Class 6A powerhouse from scratch as the school's first baseball coach, hired when the school opened before the 1993-94 academic year
- He recorded his 100th collegiate win in the 2016 season opener at Texas A&M-Kingsville
Checking the Conference Standings
- Southern Arkansas, Arkansas Tech, Arkansas-Monticello and Henderson State all have solidified home field in the opening round of the postseason tournament
- SWOSU, Harding and Southeastern have punched their tickets to the postseason, but seeding is still to be determined
- Ouachita can clinch the eighth and final spot with a single win in their final series this upcoming weekend
SWOSU Notes
- The Bulldogs are 1-5 this season in midweek action and have lost five-straight after winning the first midweek contest of the season

Daniel Richardson is working on a nice hitting streak, having collected at least one hit in the last six games
- Richardson batted .333 in three games last weekend against Ouachita, going 4-for-12 with a double off of the wall

Ted Wisdom now leads the team in batting average for the year (with limited action) at .366 after having a 5-for-9 weekend himself and now has hit .500 in back-to-back GAC series

Peyton Maddox got his first consecutive starts over the weekend, playing (and starting) in all three games for the Dawgs with
Ruben Rodriguez missing time with a foot injury
- Maddox earned his first collegiate hit in game two against the Tigers, and also crossed home plate once himself

- The Dawgs conclude the regular season in Alva against Rival Northwestern with a chance to clinch a spot in the opening round of the GAC Postseason
- Game one is on Friday under the lights at 7 pm
