Bulldogs Baffled by Hot-Shooting Bison

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist shot 52.8% (28-for-53) from the field – including 60.7% (17-for-28) in the second half – while hitting 13 three-pointers as they handed SWOSU a 95-82 defeat on Thursday evening at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
 
SWOSU had an advantage in the early moments before OBU tied the game at 21-all and ended the first half on a 20-7 run to take a lead of 39-28 into the intermission. The Bison then scored the first four points of the second half and never led by fewer than 12 points the rest of the way as they earned the victory that split the season series and gave OBU their first win over SWOSU as Great American Conference foes.
 
Markeise Champion led the Bulldogs with 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting, which included makes on 4-of-7 three-point attempts. Reshardd Harris had 13 points and eight rebounds and Devin Pugh added 10 points, but struggled from the field by going 1-for-9 from three-point range in the game.
 
SWOSU (6-18, 3-15 GAC) returns to action on Saturday with a trip to Durant to face Southeastern Oklahoma State in a game set to tip off at 3:00 pm.
