Setting the Stage
- Sitting fourth in the GAC standings, SWOSU Baseball (21-11, 12-6 GAC) heads to Arkansas this weekend for a three game series against Ouachita Baptist
- The Bulldogs have won three straight games overall and they're coming off a series win over Henderson State last weekend in Weatherford
- SWOSU and Ouachita will play a single game on Friday at 2:00 pm to open the series with a noon doubleheader to conclude it on Saturday
 
The Opponent
Ouachita Baptist (10-23, 6-15 GAC)
- Enter the weekend occupying 11th place in the GAC standings after dropping two-of-three games at Northwestern Oklahoma State last weekend
- The Tigers are 4-12 on their home field this season and they are 3-7 in their last 10 games
- Ouachita is the lowest-hitting team in the GAC with a team average of .244 but their pitching staff is ranked eighth with a 5.02 ERA and 189 runs allowed in 274.1 innings

- Has led the Bulldogs to three winning seasons and he's led the team to the GAC Tournament on three occasions while tutoring 16 all-conference players
- Earned his 100th career victory at SWOSU against Northwestern Oklahoma State on April 24, 2015
 
Ouachita Baptist: Kyle Hope (10-23, 1st season)
- In his first year as the head coach at Ouachita after serving as the Tigers pitching coach, recruiting coordinator and camp director during a four-year stint as an assistant coach
 
SWOSU Notes
- SWOSU second baseman CJ Faddis became the third Bulldog to be named GAC Player of the Week on Tuesday after hitting .667 with seven runs scored as SWOSU went 3-1 last week
- Faddis joins Jacob Spring (February 22) and Korbin Polston (March 7) in earning the award, making SWOSU the first team with three different players to be named Player of the Week this season
- For the second straight week, the Bulldogs earned an extra-inning midweek victory by defeating Oklahoma City 9-7 (11 inn.) on Tuesday
- Jacob Spring finished 2-for-5 against the Stars with five RBI, tying for the most by a Bulldog this season
- Gunnar Cook has allowed just one earned run in four straight starts with 10 strikeouts in three of those four outings
 
Looking Ahead
- SWOSU is home next Tuesday for midweek action against Cameron before heading back to Arkansas for a three-game series against Arkansas Tech
