ALVA, Okla. – SWOSU battled foul trouble throughout Monday's rivalry contest at Northwestern Oklahoma State and the Rangers shot 48% from the field to defeat the Bulldogs 85-55 at Percefull Fieldhouse.
SWOSU struggled to find their footing, literally, at Percefull Fieldhouse in the opening half and the Bulldogs found themselves down 10 at half, 45-35 after shooting 40.6% from the field. The biggest issue was from the stripe, where SWOSU was just 4-for-13 in the first 20 minutes.

Martell Collins and
Emeche Wells all battled foul trouble, with Wells becoming the first to foul out with 10:49 to play. SWOSU made just 7-of-29 field goal attempts after the break and committed 12 turnovers, scoring just 20 points while Northwestern scored 40 to run away with the contest.
Martell Collins led SWOSU with 14 points, but on 4-of-14 shooting with two turnovers in 29 minutes of play.
Collin Jennings added 13 points and six rebounds while
Juwan Newmen put up 12 points and nine rebounds in the effort.
"We had chances to cut into their lead early in the second half, we just were unable to do so," SWOSU Head Coach
Bob Battisti said. "You've got to be able to get answer baskets, but we were unable to do so and we weren't tough enough to knock down our free throws or shots from the field. I thought Collin gave us a huge boost tonight, but we never gave ourselves a chance to win offensively."
SWOSU (14-10, 10-8 GAC) returns to action on Thursday night against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Senior Night at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
