- The Bulldogs are 2-1 heading into the game while Harding is 1-2, but the Bisons are the lone GAC team that SWOSU has not defeated in the past two seasons under Head Coach

The OpponentHarding (2-1, 1-0 GAC)- Earned their first victory of the season on Thursday evening, beating Northwestern Oklahoma State after losses to Minnesota State-Moorhead and Northern State in the GAC/NSIC Crossover last weekend in Russellville
- Preseason Great American Conference favorite, earning four first-place votes and 109 total points to edge East Central in the poll
- Averaging 76.7 points per game and connecting on 47.3% of their field goal attempts, the second-best mark in the GAC
- Led by Andraz Kavas, the leading scorer in the GAC at 26.3 points per game who is also on the verge of reaching the 1,000-point career scoring mark
- Five other players are averaging better than 7.5 points per game for Harding, with Stefan Andelkovic and Blake McNaire both at 9.7 points per game
The CoachesSWOSU: Bob Battisti (35-24, 3rd season; 444-320 career, 27th season)- In his third season as the head coach of the Bulldogs, having led SWOSU to back-to-back winning seasons in his first two years at the helm
- Has coached three players at SWOSU that earned All-GAC distinction, including one GAC Player of the Year and one GAC Defensive Player of the Year
- Previously spent 25 years at Northwestern Oklahoma State, coaching the men's basketball team for 21 seasons before taking over as the school's athletic director
- In 26 years as a head coach, Battisti has a career record of 444-319 (.581), but he has not defeated Harding as the Bulldogs head coach
Harding: Jeff Morgan (396-263, 23rd season)- One of just four head coaches at Harding since they restarted basketball in 1957, Morgan is now the winningest coach in his 23rd season
- Has led his teams to 18 postseason tournament appearances, including nine Gulf South Conference Tournament appearances and four GAC Tournaments
- His teams have reached the national tournament five times, including the NCAA Division II national tournament four times, most recently in 2014
- Previously spent one season as the head coach at West Texas A&M
