LAWTON, Okla. – The SWOSU Baseball team emphatically their longest winless streak of the season on Tuesday as they blasted Cameron 11-3 in non-conference action. The Bulldogs scored all 11 runs in the first four innings of the game, including a five-run fourth inning the broke the game open.

Chris Faulkner doubled in the first inning to score JR Head from second and put the Bulldogs on top 1-0. After Cameron responded with a run in the bottom of the inning, Head and Kale Thaxton added RBI singles in the second inning to put SWOSU back on top.

The run support continued in the third as the Bulldogs scored three runs on four hits, including a two-run single from Dalton Daniels and an RBI single by Jaden Chappell that made it 6-2 heading into the fourth inning.

The offensive onslaught really began in that fourth inning as SWOSU recorded seven singles in the inning scored five runs to go on top 11-2. Dietrick Turney, Tyler Rapp and Adam Iago all had RBI singles with runners on first and second base before Thaxton hit a two-run single that plated Rapp and Iago.

SWOSU was held to just one hit over the final five innings of the game, but the damage had been done at that point as they managed 11 runs on 18 hits in the opening four frames. That was more than enough run support for the SWOSU pitching staff, which combined to allow just eight hits and three runs.

Tyler Hampton started and earned the win – improving to 2-0 – after holding the Aggies to five hits and two earned runs in 6.0 innings. He also struck out four batters while walking four before Chris Joiner relieved him for the seventh and eighth innings. Joiner gave up three hits and one run in two innings of work while Dillon Wilson shut Cameron out in the ninth inning to end it.

SWOSU improves to 17-14 on the year with the victory heading into a weekend series with Harding. The Bulldogs host the Bisons on Friday at 3 pm to open the series.
