WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Midweek baseball action saw SWOSU welcome West Texas A&M – a team ranked fourth in the latest Top 25 Poll – to town, but it was the Buffs scoring all of their runs in a four-inning span and earning a 10-6 victory at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.

SWOSU built a 3-0 lead after plating three runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning.

Dietrick Turney and
Dalton Daniels all had RBI hits in the inning as the Bulldogs took the lead, but WT came back with one run in the third and four runs apiece in the fourth and fifth innings to take the commanding lead. They would add their 10th run in the top of the sixth inning, making the deficit insurmountable for SWOSU.

Zack Mang reached on an error in the sixth inning and came around to score on a single by
Cam'Ron Summers before a WT error allowed two more runs to come across in the bottom of the seventh inning, getting SWOSU within four at the final margin of 10-6.

SWOSU had nine hits in the game, but scored just three earned runs off the trio of WT pitchers they faced.
Tyler Hampton got the start for SWOSU but lasted just 3.2 innings after giving up three hits and five earned runs, dropping his record to 1-1 on the year.
Dillon Wilson,
Chris Joiner and
Travis Leverett all saw time in relief for the Bulldogs.

The loss is just the second by SWOSU in their last 14 games and it drops their record to 14-9 for the season. The Bulldogs are on the road this weekend taking on Ouachita Baptist in a three-game Great American Conference series.
