WEATHERFORD, Okla. – After back-to-back weekend series against ranked foes, the SWOSU baseball now makes an in-state road trip this weekend to face Southern Nazarene. The teams will play a single game on Friday at 1 pm before concluding with a doubleheader starting at noon on Saturday.

SWOSU enters the weekend 4-7 (2-4 GAC) but both of their conference series have come against teams currently ranked among the top 20 in the nation. The Bulldogs did manage to take one game in each series against No. 4 Southern Arkansas and No. 16 Arkansas-Monticello.

The Bulldogs are currently ranked third in the conference in hitting with a team batting average of .285 and on on-base percentage of .349.
Brandon Ruiz is leading the Dawgs in hitting with a .395 batting average while three other regulars in the lineup –
Dalton Daniels,
Chris Faulkner and
Jiro Morales – are all hitting above .330. Faulkner leads the GAC with seven doubles while
Dietrick Turney is one of three players in the conference with multiple triples.

On the hill, SWOSU has a team ERA of 5.66 and they are allowing opponents to hit .296 through eleven games. Five different players have made a start for the Bulldogs with
Jonathan Johnson usually getting the game one start. Johnson is 1-2 with a 3.43 ERA, the lowest on the team.
