WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Oklahoma Christian scored four runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back as they defeated SWOSU 13-7 on Tuesday afternoon at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.

The Eagles scored four in the first before SWOSU came back with an RBI double from Tyler Rapp in the bottom of the inning, cutting it to a 4-1 deficit. Another big inning for OC came in the third as they scored three runs, but Kale Thaxton got SWOSU back within three at 6-3 on a two-run home run in the bottom of the third, the first home run of the season for the Bulldogs.

An RBI single by Zack Mang and a two-run double from Dalton Daniels got the Bulldogs within two runs at 8-6 in the sixth, but OC again blew the game wide open with four runs in the top of the eighth inning. The Eagles would add one insurance run in the ninth that SWOSU would respond to as Jaden Chappell walked and eventually came around to score on an RBI groundout by Rapp.

Chris Joiner started and took the loss (0-3) after allowing four hits and four runs in just one inning of work. Tyler Hampton relieved for six innings and scattered five hits and four runs while striking out four before Travis Leverett and Daniels tossed the final two innings.

SWOSU falls to 3-5 on the year and they return to conference play this weekend against nationally-ranked Arkansas-Monticello.
