Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU fell to No. 24 Arkansas Tech in the Tucker Coliseum 97-52 in Great American Conference action on Wednesday night.
Tech jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead inside the first minute of the game, but SWOSU would pull within three thanks to a pair of free throws by
Chelsea Bates. The Lady Bulldogs struggled to find their shooting form, going 4:49 into the game before making a field goal courtesy of a layup by
Jennifer Williams. SWOSU shot 17.1 percent from the field, making just one 3-point basket in the half, to trail the Golden Suns 56-22 going into the locker room.
SWOSU showed improvement shooting in the second half, making 32.4 percent of their shots and four from deep.
Jade Jones led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points on 6-15 shooting, including 4-7 on 3-point attempts.
Jessica Penner was the Lady Dawgs' top rebounder with ten. The 45 point deficit was the worst margin suffered by a
Kelsi Musick-coached team.
Southwestern will take return to action on Dec. 30 when they host the University of Science and Arts at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center at 5:30 PM.
