WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Another dominant defensive effort for the newly-ranked SWOSU soccer team resulted in a second consecutive shutout, a 4-0 victory over Wayland Baptist on Friday afternoon at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.

Natalie Crosslin got the scoring started with a header in the eighth minute off a corner kick from Alexis Russell. A short bit later, Paige Doherty found Miranda Balezentis in the middle and she put in a header of her own to make it 2-0 in the 11th minute.

The SWOSU offense, which put up 15 shots in the first half, would come through again in the 37th minute as Samantha Nunez scored her third goal of the season and put the Bulldogs on top 3-0.

Charlotte Eastman added the fourth goal in the 61st minute when her free kick, which was originally stopped by the Pioneers goalie, found its way into the back of the net.

In total, SWOSU outshot Wayland Baptist 24-3 with 11 shots on goal compared to just one for the Pioneers. Courtney Flores needed just one save to notch her second consecutive shutout and improve to 2-0-1 on the year.
