2013 Don Hansen All-Super Region Three Team
PITTSBURG, Kan. – More postseason accolades were bestowed upon SWOSU football players on Friday as
Ryan Corbin and
Devin Benton were named to
Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-Super Region Three squad.
Corbin was a second team selection at tight end while Benton was a third team pick along the defensive line. This is the second straight year that the Don Hansen Football Committee honored Corbin, who was a third-team selection after his junior season.
The duo both earned First Team All-Great American Conference honors for the Bulldogs after helping SWOSU to a 6-5 record, the program's first winning record since 2007. Corbin has already garnered multiple all-region honors and been named to one All-American team while this is the first all-region selection for Benton.
Corbin set a SWOSU and GAC single-season record with 78 receptions and his 914 receiving yards also eclipsed a single-season school record. He hauled in seven touchdown passes while rushing for five more, leading the Bulldogs in both categories.
Benton faced increased attention from opposing offensive lines this season but still managed to record 40 tackles (15, solo, 25 assist), four tackles for loss, three sacks and two quarterback hurries during his junior season.
