BETHANY, Okla. – The SWOSU volleyball team was handed their second consecutive conference defeat on Tuesday night at Southern Nazarene. The Lady Bulldogs fell in four sets (23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 24-26) sending their record to 4-10 (1-2 GAC) on the year.
After falling behind two sets, SWOSU rallied for a 25-21 victory in set three and they were on the verge of forcing a fifth set after building an early lead in the fourth. The Bulldogs led 13-7 in the middle of the set before SNU made a run to take a 20-17 lead. SWOSU battled back and went on top 24-23 with a chance to win the set but three straight points sent SNU to the victory.
Carly Zak was one of four Bulldogs to reach double figures in kills with 16.
Christina Darras had 13,
Alison Cole had 12 and
Joey Collins added 10 while playing only the final two sets.
Breann Whitaker had a double-double of 49 assists and 22 digs.
Kiley Brennfoerder added a game-high seven blocks (one solo, six assist) for the Bulldogs.
SWOSU will be on the road for two more conference matches this weekend when they visit Southern Arkansas on Friday and Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday.
