Julian Washington

Julian Washington is in his second season with SWOSU Football as an assistant coach and he will again coach the Bulldog defensive backs in 2018.

After his playing career ended in 2012, Washington stayed at his alma mater at Savannah State University, an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) school in Georgia as a student assistant coach for three seasons to kick off his professional career.

Following his collegiate tenure, Washington remained in Savannah for one year at Windsor Forest High School in 2014 before spending the previous three seasons (2014-17) in Atlanta at Duluth High School – coaching special teams and linebackers at both schools.

During his time in college, Washington played linebacker for three seasons at Savannah State and was a teammate of former SWOSU coach Alex Wierzbicki.

A native of Douglasville, Ga., Washington received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Savannah State in the spring of 2014 and will begin working towards a master’s in math education from SWOSU in the fall of 2017.
