RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Volleyball's Mackenzie Sims has earned the GAC Setter of the Week honor for week five, the league announced Monday. 

Sims (Amarillo, Texas) helped facilitate the Bulldog offense last week as SWOSU went 2-0 against Southeastern and Northwestern, dropping just one set across the two matches. She totaled 85 assists over seven sets played, averaging 12.14 assists per set. 

In the opening match against Southeastern, Sims totaled 33 assists in the Bulldogs' sweep of the Savage Storm, while also recording six digs, four kills and three blocks. 

In Thursday's matchup between the Bulldogs and Rangers, Sims recorded 52 assists, the second-most of her career and a new season high. She also added 10 digs to record her ninth double-double of the season, already matching her total from a season ago. 

Her 52 assists are the most in the GAC in a four-set match this season, breaking her own mark of 49 assists set earlier this year against Truman State. Her 52 assists are also tied for the eighth-most in a four-set match in the nation this season. 

This marks Sims' second GAC Setter of the Week honor this season and the third of her career.
