WEATHERFORD - SWOSU Volleyball closed its non-conference schedule with a dominant 3-0 victory over Cameron on Tuesday night inside the Pioneer Event Center.
The Bulldogs won 25-13, 25-18 and 25-17 to improve to 11-6 and extend their winning streak to four matches. SWOSU never trailed and held advantages in kills (42-25), blocks (10-3) and service aces (8-2).
SWOSU hit .432 with 17 kills and only one error in the opening set. The Bulldogs scored the first four points before Willow Deckinger served a five-point run that included three aces, stretching the lead to 12-4. The Dawgs remained in control from there and won 25-13.
The second set was tied at 1-1 before SWOSU scored eight consecutive points to break it open. Cameron made a late push to trim the margin to five, but the Bulldogs took three of the final four points to win 25-18.
SWOSU raced ahead 8-1 in the third and never allowed Cameron closer than six points the rest of the way. The Bulldogs used 13 players in the set and received kills from eight during the 25-17 win.
Layla Collins led SWOSU with 12 kills and no attacking errors, finishing with a .500 hitting percentage. Morgan Ritchie added 11 kills on a .476 clip and three blocks.
Jenna Houk totaled six kills, 15 digs and two aces, while Mackenzie Sims finished with 27 assists and eight digs. Katja Blanchat led the Bulldogs with five blocks.
SWOSU hit .266 for the match while holding Cameron to .053, the lowest opponent hitting percentage allowed by the Bulldogs this season.
The Bulldogs continue their three-match homestand with Great American Conference matches against Ouachita Baptist on Thursday and Henderson State on Friday.
