AUSTIN, Texas – SWOSU Soccer wrapped up the opening week of the 2026 season with its second consecutive draw, playing St. Edward's to a 1-1 result on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs move to 0-0-2 after opening the season Thursday with a 2-2 draw against Colorado Christian.
SWOSU struck first in the 20th minute when Braelee Epp found the back of the net for her first goal of the season. The score gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 advantage they carried into halftime.
St. Edward's increased the pressure after the break and eventually found the equalizer in the 76th minute. Riley Sisson scored off an assist from Macy Jennings to even the match at 1-1.
The Bulldogs nearly answered just minutes later. In the 80th minute, Tory Hume put an attempt off the crossbar as SWOSU searched for a go-ahead goal.
Neither side was able to break through over the final 10 minutes, sending the Bulldogs home with their second tie in as many matches.
St. Edward's held a 24-14 advantage in total shots, though both teams finished with five shots on goal. SWOSU goalkeeper Emma Young recorded four saves while allowing just the one second-half goal.
Epp led the Bulldog attack with four shots, while Krysta Hook also attempted four. Kinsey Geasland added three shots, including two on goal. SWOSU held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Bulldogs will remain on the road next week when they travel to Wichita, Kansas, to face Newman on Wednesday. SWOSU returns to Weatherford on Saturday, Sept. 5, to host Emporia State in its next home match.
