TOPEKA, Kan. – SWOSU Men's Golf had a solid outing at its second-to-last tournament of the fall season, finishing sixth in the 14-team field. 

Winona State won the two-day event with a team score of +3, finishing seven shots ahead of host and No. 18 Washburn, which placed second at +10. Missouri Western rounded out the top three at +13 after 54 holes. 

Nicolas Lopez Pavelko led SWOSU for the third straight event, finishing at +5 for the tournament. He opened with rounds of 71 and 72 to remain near the top of the leaderboard. Lopez Pavelko recorded five birdies in each of his opening two rounds and finished with 12 for the tournament, tied for the third-most in the field. He also played the par fives at five-under, tied for the fourth-best mark in the tournament. 

Conrado Diaz Ermacora followed at +9, opening the 54-hole event with a two-under 69. He recorded three birdies and just one bogey in the opening round and finished with nine birdies overall, including a tournament-high four in his second round. 

Nicolas Cabanillas finished alongside Diaz Ermacora at T-31 and +9. He recorded 36 pars throughout the tournament, tied for the fifth-most in the field. His best round came in the middle of the tournament, as he carded a one-over 72 with three birdies and four bogeys. 

Ben Jackson put together solid opening rounds of 72 and 73, but eight bogeys on his opening nine holes of the final round pushed him down the leaderboard. 

Samuel Moran led the Bulldogs in the second round with an even-par 71 that included four birdies. He finished with rounds of 78 and 82 on either side of his second-round score. 

SWOSU will close out the fall season at the Tulsa Cup next week, Oct. 26-27, at The Club at Indian Springs.
