Freya Sala earned All-Central Region honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on Thursday night, following the NCAA Division II Championship stroke play.
This marks the first time both golfers have received all-region accolades in their careers.
Dodgion wrapped up her collegiate career at the NCAA Championship, finishing tied for 13th as an individual competitor. Throughout the regional tournament, she maintained a 75.4 scoring average, ranking 11th in the region. Dodgion's season performance included four top-10 finishes in her last six events, highlighted by a tie for fourth at the Central Region Championship.
Sala concluded her junior season as the Great American Conference individual champion. She earned unanimous First Team All-GAC honors and was named GAC Women's Golfer of the Week twice. Sala carried a 73.6 scoring average, ranking second in the region. Her notable achievements in 2024-25 included winning two tournaments – the GAC Tournament and the MSU Women's Invitational – and finishing no worse than 14th in 11 stroke play events, with six top-five placements.
The remaining WGCA All-American Teams, Golf Pride Regional Coaches of the Year, Kim Moore Spirit Award, Golf Pride WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year, and the Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride will be announced following the NCAA Championships. About the Women's Golf Coaches Association
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 750 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
