Dodgion Surges to T-13 Finish After Strong Final Round at NCAA Championship

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – SWOSU senior women's golfer Drew Dodgion made a significant climb up the leaderboard in the final round of the NCAA Championships and of her collegiate career, carding a third round 66 (-6) to finish tied for 13th place in the tournament.

Dodgion's 66 was the lowest round posted by any SWOSU women's golfer at any NCAA postseason tournament – regional or national championship – and sets a new conference record for lowest round score at the championship tournament. She moved up 31 spots from her 44th-place tie at the start of the final round. Six golfers at the tournament achieved a score of 66 or lower.

Consistency defined Dodgion's performance on Boulder Creek Golf Course. She recorded 39 pars, tied for fifth most in the tournament.

In the opening round, Dodgion shot even par, bouncing back from a bogey on the first hole with birdies on holes 6 and 16, and pars elsewhere. A bogey on 17 pushed her back to even for the day.

Her second round was highlighted by an eagle on hole 13, which helped offset four bogeys on the back nine, resulting in a 75 (+3).

Dodgion's final round was a strong performance throughout, with two eagles and birdies, and no scores worse than par. She started strong with a birdie and eagle on holes 1 and 2, replicated the feat on holes 15 and 16 while playing all other holes to even par.

Her three eagles tied for the most in the tournament.
