Baseball Falls for First Time in Midweek

CHICKASHA, Okla. – SWOSU Baseball stranded the bases loaded three times and left 15 runners on base against USAO on Tuesday in an 11-2 midweek loss.

The Bulldogs nearly matched the Drovers in hits, getting edged just 12-11, but SWOSU's offense could not produce a timely hit in the contest or an extra-base hit.

SWOSU trailed 8-0 in the game before finally scoring the first run of the game in the top of the seventh inning. They added one more in the eighth inning.

USAO jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the second inning, scored six more between the fourth and fifth innings, and spread their final three runs across the seventh and eighth.

All four Bulldog arms that pitched allowed runs. Justin Schrader pitched the first three innings in the loss. He surrendered two runs in the second but put up zeros in the first and third.

Three Bulldogs had two-hit games – Bodi Wallar, Ty Eastwood, and Hunter Smith.

The loss drops SWOSU to 20-16 on the year and hands them their first loss in midweek action. The Dawgs will refocus back to GAC play with the arrival of Ouachita Baptist to Weatherford this weekend. Games one and two are currently scheduled for noon on Friday, April 11. The series finale will commence Saturday at 1:00 pm on Senior Day.
