DURANT, Okla. – After a tough 18-7 run-rule loss to Southeastern in Sunday's first game, Bulldog Baseball bounced back with a 6-4 win over the Savage Storm in game two. The doubleheader split forces a Monday rubber match between teams to decide the series, scheduled for 1:00 pm.
Game One (7 inn.)
Southeastern 18, SWOSU 7
Despite scoring five runs in the top of the first inning, SWOSU fell in the series opener following an offensive onslaught from Southeastern.
Leading 7-2 after two innings, the Bulldogs were then held scoreless the rest of the way while the Storm plated runs in four of the final five frames including large innings of 4-6-4 in the fourth, fifth, and finally seventh.
Bodi Wallar (2-4) doubled in two runs in the first inning.
Gage Gaunt (3-4) belted a two-run home run in the second inning.
Josh Doelitsch suffered the loss in 4.0 innings of work.

Game Two
SWOSU 6, Southeastern 4
The Dawgs came from behind in game two by scoring the game-tying, and go-ahead run in the final inning.
Gage Gaunt homered again in the first inning – another two-run shot. SWOSU added a run in the third but trailed 4-3 until scoring three runs in the seventh to win it.
The Savage Storm scored two runs off starting pitcher
Drew Fifer in both the first and second innings, but he settled in to hold the home team scoreless from the third inning on in a complete game effort. Fifer struck out a season high 13, scattered seven hits including a pair of solo home runs in the second inning, and walked three. After surrendering five hits through the game's first two innings, he limited Southeastern to just two hits the rest of the way.
In the seventh,
Eric Foufoulas walked with one out and the offense snowballed.
Sean Monsour and
Bodi Wallar then singled behind him to load the bases with one out. Gaunt walked with the bases loaded to tie the game, and Monsour came across shortly after as the go-ahead run courtesy of a wild pitch.
Ty Eastwood then added breathing room with an RBI single.
Gaunt (2-3) finished as SWOSU's lone multi-hit game with three RBI and a run scored. Fifer moves to 4-3 on the year on the mound.
