FORT SMITH, Ark. – SWOSU Men's Golf earned a top five finish behind two top 20 individual finishes at the 2025 Great American Championships, which took place at Hardscrabble Country Club.
Henderson State, Harding, and Arkansas Tech all battled it out for the top spot as a team during the final day, with Henderson State winning with a -1 finish, while Harding and Tech both ended tied for silver at +1 after the three-day, 54-hole event.
Conrado Diaz Ermacora finished as the top Dawg for the third time this season, but the first time since October. His middle round propelled him to a T-16 finish after he shot his only under-par round of the week with a -1 (69). His final round was plagued with three double bogeys. On the week, he had a team-high 10 birdies.
Lukas Hendricks finished one stroke back of Ermacora at +8 by tournaments end. His final round had him sitting at -2 after the opening 14 holes, but he then went +5 over his final four holes, making him finish with a +3 (73) closing round.
Both
Sutton McMillan and
Ryan Carlisle went 77-74-75 over the three rounds of play to each finish as T-32. McMillan finished top five in last year's GAC Championship to represent his best finish as a Bulldog. After having a birdie-free opening round, he was able to notch two birdies in each of the final rounds to shoot in the mid-70s. Carlisle was able to put down nine birdies, but his score ballooned from four different double bogeys on his card.
Jack Phillips had placed as the top SWOSU golfer in six tournaments on the year and second in the other three, but the freshman could not find his rhythm this week, as he finished at +19 over the 54 holes. His best round came on the final day, where he had four birdies but subsequently had both a triple and a double bogey to make his final round a +4 (74).
