SWOSU’s Streak Halted by Tigers in Ada

ADA, Okla. – SWOSU Volleyball's five-match win streak came to an end Thursday night with a 3-1 loss to East Central inside the Kerr Activities Center.

The Bulldogs (12-14, 10-4 GAC) took the opening set 25-18 but dropped the next three by a combined seven points as the Tigers (now 7-1 at home) defended their home court once again.

The match featured long rallies throughout, highlighted by SWOSU's season-high 110 digs, achieved in just four sets. Jada Permenter led the defensive effort with a career-best 37 digs.

For the second straight outing, Paris Patterson, Sydnee Winfrey, Jenna Houk, and Hailey Smith all recorded double-digit kills. Winfrey's 15 kills were a new season high, while Patterson (16) and Houk (14) combined for 30 kills and each added 20 digs for double-doubles.

Mackenzie Sims posted a season-best 50 assists to pace the offense.

Despite hitting .190 as a team, the Bulldogs were undone by 23 attack errors and five service errors, while ECU used 12 blocks and 10 aces to offset its own .123 hitting percentage.

SWOSU returns home Tuesday for Senior Night against Southeastern before closing the regular season Thursday on the road at Northwestern.
