WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Soccer clinched a spot in the 2025 Great American Conference Championships with a 1-0 home victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs (10-4-3, 6-2-3 GAC) returned to the win column for the first time in four matches and reached the 10-win mark for the first time since 2021.
Raniya Cattina delivered the game-winner in the 68th minute.
Braelee Epp initiated the attack with a cross into the box that wasn't cleared by the Ranger defense, leaving the ball at Cattina's feet for the decisive finish. The goal capped off an afternoon of sustained offensive pressure, as SWOSU tallied eight shots on goal.
Defensively, the Bulldogs earned their sixth shutout of the season. Goalkeeper
Emma Young recorded two saves in the 90-minute effort.
SWOSU also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Bulldogs close out the regular season on Saturday (Nov. 8) at home against Oklahoma Baptist. The GAC Tournament begins Nov. 14 and will be hosted by top-seeded Harding, which secured hosting rights based on Wednesday's league results.
