EDMOND, Okla. – A late surge by Oklahoma Christian proved to be the difference on Saturday, as SWOSU fell 68-60 on the road.
The Bulldogs held a 57-55 lead with just over four minutes remaining, but the Eagles responded with a decisive 9-1 run that flipped the game and pushed them across the finish line.
SWOSU led 26-25 at halftime before cooling off in the second half, shooting 35% from the field and 3-of-19 from three over the final 20 minutes. Oklahoma Christian countered with 58% shooting after the break, including six made threes, to outscore the Dawgs 43-34 down the stretch.
Three Bulldogs finished in double figures, led by Kayden Carter's 18 points. Ty Frierson added 15 points and a team-high seven assists, while Tobias Roland posted his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The loss drops SWOSU to 1-3 on the young season. The Bulldogs now turn their attention to Tuesday's home opener against Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) on November 25 before Thanksgiving Break.
