EDMOND, Okla. – SWOSU Women's Golf wrapped up its third tournament of the fall with a tie for fourth place at the Grace Shin Invitational, finishing 27 over par as a team after 36 holes.
Central Missouri won the team title at 12-over par, followed by Arkansas Tech at 15 over. Host UCO placed third at 18 over, while SWOSU shared fourth with Northwest Missouri State at 27 over.
Freya Sala once again led the Lady Dawgs, finishing tied for seventh at two over. She has now placed in the top 10 at every fall tournament. Sala opened with a 73 that included six bogeys, then answered with an even-par 71 that featured three birdies. Her seven birdies across the two rounds were tied for the most of any player in the field.
Daniela Espinoza turned in her best performance of the season, tying for 14th place. She improved from a 74 in round one to a 71 in the final round. Espinoza made five birdies across her 36 holes and finished strong, playing her last four holes at one under to climb seven spots on the leaderboard.
Maria Velilla backed up last week's runner-up finish with another steady outing. She shot 75 in the first round and 76 in the second to finish nine over with three birdies on her card.
London Wilson closed at 15 over, recording 26 pars or better across her two rounds.
Nerea Anton finished at 17 over, highlighted by her best stretch in round two when she played the first 12 holes at just one over.
The Lady Dawgs will now shift their attention to the Perkins cup, a match play event against Northwestern on Thursday in Enid.
