BROKEN ARROW, Okla. – SWOSU Women's Golf wrapped up their final tournament of the fall season with a fourth-place finish at The Tulsa Cup, highlighted by another top-five performance from
Freya Sala.
Arkansas Tech (+19) took home the team title, followed by Rogers State (+28) and Central Missouri (+32) as the only teams to finish ahead of the Lady Dawgs.
SWOSU capped a dominant fall stretch with five straight top-four finishes, including a team title last week at the NCAA Central Regional Preview.
Sala once again led the way for the Bulldogs, continuing her remarkable consistency this fall. Her lowest finish of any tournament was seventh, and she's now recorded three top-five performances, including this week's fourth-place result. Sala opened with back-to-back -1 (71) rounds, featuring a birdie on her first hole of round two before stringing together 17 straight pars. A triple bogey on a short par-5 during her final-round 77 proved costly, dropping her from second to fourth on the leaderboard.
Maria Velilla, coming off her individual title last week, delivered another strong showing with a top-15 finish. She posted rounds of 75-73-76 to finish at +8 for the tournament. Velilla tallied nine birdies—tied for the fourth-most in the field—and appeared headed for an under-par second round before a double bogey on her final hole halted the run. She's now finished inside the top 15 in four of five fall tournaments.
Daniela Espinoza added five birdies to her total this week, highlighted by two solid 75s.
London Wilson was steady throughout, recording rounds of 77-78-78 with one birdie. Sala, Espinoza, and Wilson each tallied 37 pars, tying for the third-most in the field, just two behind the leader.
Nerea Anton rounded out the lineup with four birdies, though a handful of double bogeys or worse held back her overall score.
The Lady Bulldogs now head into the winter break before returning to action in February at the Southern Invitational in Spring, Texas.
