WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Soccer opened the season against in-state, non-conference opponent Central Oklahoma on Thursday evening with the Bronchos defeating the Bulldogs by a score of 4-1. 

The Bulldog's lone goal of the contest came from sophomore Philippine de Sancy in the 84th minute of the contest. A free kick, taken just outside the box that sailed past a trio of lined up UCO defenders, snuck past a diving goalie to avoid the shutout.

UCO was able to manage ten shots on goal against just three for the Bulldogs. The Bronchos were able to double up on total shots, having 16 to SWOSU's eight. The visitors held a 2-0 lead at halftime and tacked on two more in the second half before de Sancy's score. 

De Sancy led the Bulldogs in total shots (3) and shots on goal (2). Ashlyn Stigall provided the only other shot on goal (1).

The next game for the Bulldogs takes them down to Dallas, Texas. They'll face No. 18 Dallas Baptist on Saturday, September 7 at 1:00 pm.
