Late SWOSU Goal Gives Dawgs 1-1 Draw vs OC

WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Soccer applied enough pressure late to escape their home match against Oklahoma Christian with a 1-1 draw thanks to a converted penalty kick with nearly 10 minutes to play.

The result gives the Bulldogs the first tie of the season and moves them to 0-2-1 on the year heading into Saturday's road match against Missouri Southern.

Julie Andersen, who logged all 90 minutes in the contest, scored the equalizer for her first goal of the season. She was sent to kick following a foul drawn on Queen Harvey in the box.

SWOSU trailed 1-0 up until that point after the visiting Eagles netted their goal with under a minute to play before halftime.

Though the final numbers ended similar on both sides, it was Oklahoma Christian who seemingly had the Dawgs on their heels for much of the match. SWOSU flipped that momentum in the latter part of the second half and found a way to erase the deficit and collect the draw.
