WEATHERFORD – SWOSU softball claimed both games in their doubleheader against East Central on Saturday afternoon. Game one's win came in walk off fashion 3-2. Game two was more decisive as SWOSU won 8-0 in six innings.
The two wins improve SWOSU's record to 9-10 and 6-2 in the GAC. They face East Central in the series finale tomorrow at 1 pm.
Game One – SWOSU 3, East Central 2
SWOSU took game one of the doubleheader down to the wire, but rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walk off 3-2 win. With only one out left,
Katie Boline stepped up to the plate and knocked a double into center field to score the two runs and put another win in the win column for SWOSU.
Blaire Gentry was excellent on the mound for SWOSU, pitching a complete game. She gave up seven hits, all singles, and struck out three batters for her sixth win of the season.
Offense was hard to come by early in the first of two games on Saturday. The teams combined for three hits through the first three innings and no base runner advanced past second base. SWOSU got on the board first with a
Cierah Jones single up the middle in the fourth inning for a 1-0 lead.
East Central responded in the next half inning with two runs on four hits and seemed prime to take the game heading into the seventh.
Cierah Jones reached on a leadoff single and two ground outs moved her to third.
Jadyn Hook then took a full count walk to set up the Boline walk-off double.
Boline was 1-4 with her game winning two RBIs on the day.
Dani Carmo finished 2-4 with a double.
Cierah Jones batted 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored.
Game Two – SWOSU 8, East Central 0 (6 innings)
SWOSU brought it at the plate and in the field in the latter game. They scored eight runs on 12 hits in the condensed final. The Bulldogs also did not allow a base runner past first base for the entire game.
The scoring began in the fourth inning after four straight Bulldog batters reached base. A
Dani Carmo single brought home one run and an error from East Central the next batter took another base runner to home plate. A double play ended the inning with another potential run on third.

Jadyn Hook to knock a base hit into the right center gap to score Hewitt for a 3-0 SWOSU advantage.
After two singles and a hit by pitch scored one run to open the sixth inning,
Chesnie Hewitt put the Dawgs up 7-0 with her three-run homer to left center. A
Maddie Rahon double continued the offensive onslaught and
Jadyn Hook ended the game with another RBI base hit.
Courtney Hill pitched a complete game shutout, scattering five hits and striking out a season high eight batters in her six innings. This is Hill's second complete game this year, her first came in five innings against Ouachita Baptist.
Chesnie Hewitt was 2-3 with a season high three RBIs and two runs scored for SWOSU.
Jadyn Hook batted 3-4 with two RBIs of her own and a run scored.
