WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Baseball jumped out to a 6-1 lead but could not keep pace with USAO in a 21-11 loss to the Drovers at home on Tuesday.
USAO scored in every inning of the game, hung five crooked numbers on the scoreboard, and racked up 20 hits en route to claiming the run-rule victory.
A Ty Eastwood grand slam capped off SWOSU's six-run first inning. He drove in another run in the second on an RBI single.
USAO answered SWOSU's six runs with six of their own in the second inning. The Dawgs retook the lead in the home half of the second with three more runs before scoring dried up the rest of the game. After nine runs in two innings, SWOSU managed just two over the next five.
Meanwhile, with stability found from the USAO bullpen, the Drovers began to pull away with big innings consecutively.
Eastwood and Markus Coronado accounted for six of SWOSU's seven hits in the game.
Seven Bulldog pitchers saw action in the contest.
The Dawgs (15-12) hit the road to face Arkansas Tech this weekend in the continuation of conference play.
