ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – SWOSU Football junior defensive back Desmond Greene was named a Second Team All-Super Region 3 selection by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) on Thursday.

Greene (Crawfordville, Fla.) becomes the seventh all-region honoree from Region 3 in program history and he's the first Bulldog to be recognized since 2016.

He headed a SWOSU secondary that led the GAC in interceptions (15) this season. He accounted for nearly half of those, 7, ranking him second in all of Division II at the end of the 2024 regular season. Seven interceptions this season was second most in SWOSU's Division II era single-season history, one shy of tying the record. He had at least one interception in six of SWOSU's 11 games this year, highlighted by a two INT game at East Central on September 21.

Greene also tallied 42 tackles, had six pass breakups, and forced a fumble this season.

In total, 20 region programs had at least one honoree and 12 different teams had multiple All-Super Region 3 selections. The MIAA had nine of its 10 football-playing member schools represented on the All-Region teams.

The MIAA led the way for the conferences in total selections to the All-Super Region 3 Teams with 21, which included 11 First Team honorees. The GLIAC was second with 13 selections, while the GAC and the GLVC had 11 and five, respectively.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
