TOPEKA, Kan. – SWOSU Volleyball senior outside hitter Lacy Mott was named a First Team All-Central Region selection by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) on Wednesday.
Mott (Waxahachie, Texas) becomes the fifth all-region honoree in program history, joining teammate Zoey Sparks, SWOSU Athletic Hall of Fame member and two-time selection Carly Zak, and current assistant coach Kaitlyn Bagwell (Dillon) as Bulldogs to achieve all-region volleyball status.
She led the Great American Conference in kills per set (4.08) and points per set (4.59) and her 449 kills finished as the second highest kill total in the Central Region. It's a kill total that ranks 13th nationally in Division II as of December 4, the date of this release.
Mott, the unanimous 2024 GAC Player of the Year and the first three-time First Team All-GAC selection in SWOSU volleyball history, finished with 18 double-doubles this year (kills/digs) and ends her career with 1,560 kills – second in program history – and 1,437 digs – fourth in program history.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
