WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Soccer could not complete the comeback against GAC foe Oklahoma Baptist in a 2-1 defeat on Senior Day.
The Bulldogs (5-8-4, 3-5-3 GAC) will look to close out their season on a high note when they host Harding on Monday, November 11 in a rescheduled game from last Saturday.
The Bison struck quickly in the first half after an Allie Vasquez save deflected back onto the pitch, allowing OBU to capitalize and take a 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the match.
In the second half, the Bison added another goal following a well-executed corner kick which led to a header that found the back of the net.
Trailing 2-0, SWOSU looked to make a comeback with a goal from Natalie Freeman in the 86th minute but ran out of time to get an equalizer.
Final numbers had Katrine Ladegaard and Philippine de Sancy each leading the way with two shots. Ladegaard also assisted on the Dawg's only goal. Vasquez ended the game with four saves.
