WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The Bulldogs saw the 2024 season come to an end on Monday after a scoreless draw in the final game against Harding. The match was a make-up game from the originally scheduled November 2nd contest that postponed due to weather.
Harding, who finished second in the GAC regular season, could not beat the Dawgs in two tries this year after falling 1-0 back in Searcy and the latest 0-0 result.
Throughout the match the Lady Bisons held control of possession, beating SWOSU in shots (20-5) and corner kicks (8-1). However, the Dawgs were able to keep their composure and not let the ball reach the back of the net thanks to a few great saves by Bulldog goalkeeper Terra Rybuck who ended with six in the shutout.
Every shot by the Bulldogs was on goal, led by Elise LaForge with two solid line drive strikes. Hannah Guiterrez, Anna Bager, and Philippine de Sancy added the other three.
The match closes out a season where SWOSU finished 5-8-5 overall and 3-5-4 in GAC play. It's the first time since 2014 that the Bulldogs did not reach the GAC's postseason tournament.
