WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Soccer and Northwestern went at it for 90 minutes without a goal on Wednesday in a 0-0 tie. It's the second time this season the two battled to a draw after a 1-1 result in mid-October.
Both sides had chances to score. In the first half, SWOSU was the aggressor before that role flipped after halftime. The Rangers won the corner kick battle 4-0 in the contest and three of those came in the second half.
Both goalkeepers finished with four saves. It's
Allie Vasquez's second clean sheet of the season.
Half of SWOSU's shots on goal came courtesy of
Aspen Cope.
Ashlyn Stigall and
Natalie Freeman logged SOGs as well.
With two matches remaining in the regular season, SWOSU finds themselves just outside of the current playoff cutoff but can make ground up by collecting wins. They'll face Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday (Nov. 9) and Harding next Monday (Nov. 11) looking to surge into the postseason.
