RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Football placed four on the annual All-GAC teams, announced Thursday by the conference office.
The Bulldogs got second place selections from senior linebacker
Logan Monroe, senior offensive lineman
Isaac Foster, and junior defensive back
Desmond Greene, and were rounded by junior defensive lineman
Cameron Guyton on the third team.
The four All-GAC selections in 2024 represent SWOSU's most since 2016.
Academically,
Isaac Foster was one of 15 recipients of the GAC Elite Scholar Award – given to those holding the highest GPA in the conference with at least 70 hours of completed classwork.
SWOSU had 12 placed on the Academic Honor Roll, an honor earned by holding a minimum 3.5 GPA with one year of full-time college residency completed. Those included:
Timirance Adams,
Keyon Barnett,
Bodie Boydstun,
Jonavon Dennis,
Austin Houk,
Kai Kunz,
Dylan Mauro,
Logan Monroe,
Tate Robards,
Zack Roberts,
Ben Shlemon, and
Rodney Tai.
Monroe (Dallas, Texas) was SWOSU's leading tackler for a second consecutive season after totaling 101 this season, good for second in the conference. He finished with 5.5 sacks – tied for fifth most in the league – 9.0 tackles for loss, one interception, three QB hurries, and forced a fumble against Northwestern that was recovered by a teammate for a touchdown. He finishes his career sixth on SWOSU's Division II era tackling list, with 257 to his credit.
Foster (Jones, Okla.) caps off his senior season with recognition after being a day-in and day-out lineman for the past three seasons. SWOSU surrendered less than two sacks per game in 2024. It's the first time a Bulldog lineman has earned Al-GAC status since 2018.
Greene (Crawfordville, Fla.) headed a SWOSU secondary that led the GAC in interceptions (15) this season. He accounted for nearly half of those, 7, ranking him second in all of Division II as of the end of the 2024 regular season. Seven interceptions this season was second most in SWOSU's Division II era single-season history, one shy of tying the record. Greene also tallied 42 tackles, had six pass breakups, and forced a fumble this season.
Guyton (DeSoto, Texas) provided the Dawgs with an interior presence all season on the D-Line. He finished with 27 tackles, one sack, 4.5 tackles for loss, and a QB hurry.
