RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU's Lacy Mott has earned her third Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor of the 2024 season, the league announced Monday afternoon.
It's the fifth offensive honor of her career and she now has six total weekly GAC awards thanks to a defensive recognition last year as well.
Mott (Waxahachie, Texas) tallied the most kills of any GAC player in a match this season when she produced 30 in a five-set win on the road against Oklahoma Baptist. She hit .406 in the match and committed just four errors, while notching an 18-dig double-double. Three days later against East Central, she eclipsed the 1,500 career kill milestone when she added 20 more against the Tigers.
Mott and the Bulldogs have two games remaining on the regular season schedule and have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming GAC Tournament. One win this week would give SWOSU the outright regular season conference championship. The first chance for that comes Tuesday on Senior Night, in the home finale against Northwestern.
