Volleyball Weathers First Set Storm, Beats SNU in Four

BETHANY, Okla. – The SWOSU volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over Southern Nazarene on Thursday, overcoming an early setback to secure a third consecutive win.

It marks the second straight game the Bulldogs have fallen behind 1-0 before winning in four sets. The result pushes them to 8-6 on the year and 4-1 in GAC play.

The match got off to a tightly contested start, with the first set tied 16-16 before SNU went on a 6-0 run to take the set 25-21. SWOSU flipped the script in the second set, facing a 14-12 deficit before using a 6-0 run of their own to eventually take it 25-18. This momentum swing carried into the final two sets, winning 25-16 in both the third and fourth.

Lacy Mott led the team with 22 kills, her second consecutive game with 20-plus kills and her third such performance in five conference matches. Hailey Smith added 10 kills and Paris Patterson contributed 9.
