WEATHERFORD – SWOSU Volleyball got back to its winning ways on Thursday with a 3-0 sweep over Henderson State.

The victory comes two days after the Dawgs had an eight-game win streak snapped against Midwestern State. SWOSU moves to 9-1 in the GAC and remains atop the standings with six games remaining in the regular season.

Against HSU, the Bulldogs cruised to their third sweep of the GAC schedule with win margins of 9-9-8 (25-16, 25-16, 25-17). In set two, the closest of any, the Reddies fought back from an early deficit to get within one point at 16-15. A quick three-point spurt put SWOSU back in control and leading 19-16, the Dawgs scored the next six to win the frame and take full control of the match.

Samantha Kuzma had an efficient night, which led to a season high 12 kills on 17 attempts to lead the team. Late in the third set she held a .800 hitting percentage before it finally settled at .647 for the match.

SWOSU limited the Reddies to a collective .076 hitting percentage, highlighted by double-digit dig totals from Jada Permenter (11), Lacy Mott (10), and Keke Holloway (10).

The week concludes tomorrow, October 25, when Ouachita Baptist comes to the Pioneer Event Center for the typical 4:00 pm first serve expected on a conference Friday.
